Professors and students from Concordia University, Wisconsin School of Pharmacy and Nova Southeastern School of Pharmacy came to our university to experience the culture of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)
On May 31st, twenty-six professors and students from Concordia University, Wisconsin School of Pharmacy and Nova Southeastern School of Pharmacy came to our university to experience the culture of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).
In the forenoon, Dr. He Shimin from the School of Chinese Material Medica gave a wonderful lecture about Chinese material medica. In the afternoon, the group visited the Manufactory of Kangqiao TCM Decoction Pieces and Shanghai Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Staff in the manufactory leaded everyone to look around in accordance with the processing procedure of medicinal materials including manual picking up, washing, steaming, drying, cooling, filtration and packaging.
The whole visit was orderly. Everyone showed their keen interest in traditional Chinese medicine, listened to the lecture carefully and took notes. On the way to the museum, the professors of the two universities learned that our school held a series of TCM training courses to overseas students, they expressed their interest in participating them.
Later on, the group visits Shanghai Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Everyone was greatly impressed by the extended history and splendid TCM culture. Before they completed the trip, many of them bought bilingual TCM textbooks in the souvenir department store.
Through lectures, field visits and other forms, our school allows international teachers and students to feel the spirit and charm of traditional Chinese medicine, and promotes the international communication and dissemination of traditional Chinese medicine.
