From August 11 to 29, 2025, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine successfully hosted the 2025 Shanghai Summer School (Advanced Traditional Chinese Medicine Program), organized by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. The program attracted high-level professionals from 16 countries including the United States, Canada, Finland, Brazil, Bolivia, Malta, and The Gambia. In addition to academic lectures, the program arranged visits to Longhua Hospital, Shuguang Hospital, and Yueyang Hospital (all affiliated with Shanghai University of TCM), Shanghai Qigong Research Institute, and Nanqiao Community Health Service Center in Fengxian District. Furthermore, the group toured traditional Chinese medicine institutions including Cai Tongde Tang (a time-honored TCM pharmacy), Yida Herbal Garden, Shanghai Kangqiao Chinese Herbal Medicine Company, Shanghai Dowsing Medical Technology Co., Ltd., and Tang Xiang Cultural Space to gain deeper insights into the history, development, and innovation of TCM. Beyond the intensive academic schedule, participants also experienced Chinese calligraphy, learned traditional exercises like Baduanjin, and observed TCM diagnostic methods (inspection, listening, smelling, inquiry, and palpation) at the International Medical Department of Longhua Hospital.

At the closing ceremony, participants presented their learning outcomes through project demonstrations, shared personal experiences, and expressed their aspirations to contribute to the development of Traditional Chinese Medicine in their home countries. They also conveyed strong interest in further exploring TCM diagnostics and keeping abreast of the latest research advancements in the field.
