The team secured three gold, two silver, and one bronze medal, with student Liu Jieying winning the top individual all-around award.

A three-day fierce contest saw international students from across the world showcasing their expertise and learning from each other. Shanghai University of TCM's delegation—Pan Shanrou, Liu Jieying, Gu Shenghui, and Toshihiro Niwa—competed in the international student track. They calmly faced strong competition, demonstrating deep theoretical knowledge and clinical skill to excel in multiple events and secure a haul of awards:

Individual All-Around: 1 Gold (Liu Jieying),

Acupoint Location: 1 Gold, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze,

Outstanding Individual Award: 1.

First-place all-around winner Liu Jieying reflected after the contest: “This competition not only sharpened my technical skills but also gave me a profound sense of the breadth and depth of Chinese medicine. As an international student, I hope to serve as an ambassador for this heritage, helping more friends around the world discover—and fall in love with—Traditional Chinese Medicine.”

Beyond a high-stakes skills showdown, the contest became a vibrant exchange where the spirit of Chinese medicine leapt off the page and into the hands, hearts and minds of students from every corner of the globe. Weeks of rigorous coaching with faculty mentors like Zhao Ling and Lu Ping from the Acupuncture & Tuina School turned rehearsed motions into second-nature precision, catapulting international trainees from competent to genuinely accomplished. In one stroke the event sharpened technique, deepened cultural affinity, and pushed high-quality global medical education a decisive step forward.
