The 2024 Shanghai Summer School (Traditional Chinese Medicine Program) officially commenced on June 9 at the International Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

This four-week program, which runs from June 10 to July 5, marks the first in-person session since 2019, drawing students from around the globe.

Under the theme 'Exploring the Wonders of TCM', the program has attracted nearly 40 international students from 15 countries, including the United States, France, Malta, the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, Malaysia, Thailand, Mongolia, Vietnam, Pakistan, Zimbabwe, Myanmar, Mexico, and Syria.

The opening ceremony was followed by the program's first lecture, 'Introduction to TCM', where students began their journey into the depths of TCM knowledge. On the same day, participants engaged in traditional exercise practice, learning the Five-Animal Exercises firsthand and experiencing the unique charm of TCM wellness culture.

The program continues to integrate the latest developments in TCM with diverse teaching methods. Students will not only learn the fundamental theories of TCM but also gain hands-on experience through field visits and practical exercises, immersing themselves in the marvels of TCM. The curriculum also includes Chinese language courses and traditional cultural activities, providing a comprehensive cultural immersion.

Participants expressed their enthusiasm for the program, hoping to deepen their understanding of TCM and experience the richness of Chinese culture. They look forward to a fulfilling and unforgettable summer.

As the program unfolds, it promises a blend of academic rigor and cultural exploration, offering a unique educational experience that bridges cultures and enriches knowledge.
