The Preparatory Program
1. Program orientation：This program targets at foreign students intending to take up professional TCM courses or interested in the TCM culture by improving their Chinese language proficiency to prepare them for studying TCM.
2. Main courses and course features：
√ | Providing courses at beginner’s, elementary, intermediate and advanced levels. |
√ | Mixed classes of students from all countries, providing a conducive environment for multi-cultural interactions. |
√ | Small classes with an average of 15 students. |
√ | A streaming test is carried out at the beginning of the semester to facilitate students to choose a suitable starting point for learning. |
√ | Connecting to the bachelor program of Chinese Language (TCM-oriented) with scholarship opportunities. |
3. Program certificate: Program certification will be awarded upon completion of all required courses and passing all examinations.

（1）Refer to “2023 International Student’s Dormitory ” (Attachment 1) (Current dormitory pricing, for reference only). Dormitories allocated upon admission will be arranged based on all student applications. Dormitory fees may fluctuate based on 2024 pricing regulations. | |
（2）Students may live off-campus upon approval by the University. All charges will be paid by the student. |

√ | Admission will be decided based on appraisal of submitted documents. Application fees will not be refunded as a result of the following circumstances: rejected applications due to incomplete documents, disqualified applications, students voluntarily withdraw. |

√ | Students may apply for the SHUTCM Scholarship for Chinese Language Students |
√ | Students who have completed at least one semester of the Preparatory Program for TCM and continue with programs are eligible for applying for the International Student “Belt and Road” Scholarship (Attachment 2). |
