SHUTCM WELCOMES MEDICAL EDUCATION EXCHANGE WITH FRANCE

Five doctors from the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SHUTCM) and its affiliated hospitals attended training at the University of Lyon in France from April 10 to 14.

A joint effort of SHUTCM, the University of Lyon, the University of Ottawa in Canada, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the training offered doctors and students from the four schools a novel international personal and professional platform.

Over the five days the doctors from SHUTCM were treated to a variety of lectures and discussed ideas on topics such as the doctor-patient relationship and diversity in practice.

They also had a chance to visit different local clinics, gaining first-hand experience of how French doctors interact with patients.

The Chinese doctors briefed their foreign partners on the philosophy, history and development of traditional Chinese medicine and patiently answered their questions.

They regard the training as very fruitful and look forward to more trans-regional and interdisciplinary cooperation in the future.
